Indications of growing dissension within the ranks of the Arab leaders are seen in the organization of an opposition group to the Arab Executive in the Arab villages of the Jaffa district. The leader in this opposition is Azam El Sayed, mayor of Jaffa.
The chief ground of the dissatisfaction is the alleged mismanagement by the Grand Mufti’s party of the distribution of the riot relief funds collected throughout the Moslem world. The opposition was held in check while the Arab delegation was presenting the Arabs’ demands in London as a sign that the Arabs were maintaining a united front.
The opposition to the Grand Mufti and his followers is becoming pronounced, especially in the northern part of the country where the Mufti’s opponents are concentrated.
