Oriana Fallaci, the Italian journalist who changed from one of Israel’s toughest critics to one of its staunchest defenders, died Friday at age 76. Fallaci died in her native Florence, where she was being treated for breast cancer. Fallaci became famous for confrontational interviews with figures including PLO leader Yasser Arafat and Iran’s Ayatollah Khomenei.
