The School of Oriental Studies of the Hebrew University announces that the concordance of classical Arabic poetry which is now being prepared under its direction, was officially recognized by the International Congress of Orientalists, states an announcement of the American Advisory Committee of he Hebrew University, of which Felix M. Warburg is chairman.
The Arabic section of the Congress at the session held at Oxford passed the following resolution.
“That this section of the Congress has heard with great satisfaction of the progress made by the four scholars appointed by the Hebrew University in the Concordance of Arabic poetry up to the end of the Omayyad period. and wishes the work every success.” The Concordance was begun in 1926 and is written in Arabic. References are given in Latin characters, which are familiar to both Moslem and European scholars.
