William Ormsby-Gore, Colonial Secretary, today parried a series of questions in the House of Commons on the causes of Palestine disorders with the statement that it would be improper for him to anticipate the inquiry of the projected Royal Commission.

His evasion was taken as indication that next Friday’s debate in Commons in the Palestine situation would not be conclusive and would not touch on fundamentals.
