Senator Robert S. Wagner and Congressman Emanuel Celler, chairman and secretary respectively, of the American Ort Congressional Committee, yesterday cabled a message of condolence to the Comzet at Moscow, on the occasion of the death of Peter Smidowitch, Vice-President of the U.S.S.R. and chairman of the Comzet.
The message, also signed by Henry Moskowitz, chairman of the board of directors of the American Ort read:—”The American Congressional Committee of ORT expresses its condolence on the death of Peter Smidowitch, president of Comzet and tried and trusted friend of Jewish reconstruction work of the ORT in Russia.”
