The ORT is at present operating 16 vocational retraining schools with an enrollment of 550 students in Israel, it was announced today by the World ORT Union headquarters here. The announcement said that an additional ten training centers will be set up this year in the Jewish state.
Former Governor Herbert H. Lehman and his wife paid an extended visit to the ORT school at Montreuil, near Paris, during their recent visit to the French capital, the ORT revealed. “ORT is doing a magnificent Job,” Gov. Lehman was quoted as saying following his visit. “The graduates, whether they go to Israel or remain where they are, will be an asset to the community.”
