Ort Plans to Aid 20,000

The ORT society here has drafted plans to aid 20,000 Jews in unoccupied France at an estimated cost of $100,000 up to the end of the year and is preparing a memorandum on its activities for the Minister of Labor.

The ORT plans lay stress on agriculture, including the placing of farm workers, renting certain tracts for refugee colonies, encouraging settlement of farmers at Garonne, organizing in various parts of France of farms, schools and vegetable gardens.

It is also planned to extend credits to artisans for purchase of tools and raw materials and establishment of workshops, courses for apprentices and youths. Courses are continuing in Paris and the ORT school donated by Baron Ginsbourg is being reopened at George Labdennois.

ORT delegates are leaving for Toulouse to organize assistance, and technicians are leaving for Marseille, Montpelier and other cities. Delegates have also been sent to Limoges.
