“Israel is a definite part of the ORT program and budget for 1950, and our negotiations with the Joint Distribution Committee will definitely be concerned with the question of Israel amongst others,” Edward L. Sard, executive director of the American ORT Federation, declared in a statement here today.
Pointing out that the ORT is conducting activities in Europe and North Africa, Mr. Sard emphasized that “a very important part” of the ORT program in 1950 is in Israel and that the ORT, in its negotiations for the renewal of the agreement with the J.D.C., will ask the latter for funds not only for the ORT program in Europe and North Africa, but also for its program in Israel.
