Oscar Straus, the well-known philanthropist and statesman, has arrived in Jerusalem where he will be the guest of Sir Herbert Samuel, British High Commissioner. His arrival has created a great deal of comment by reason of the fact that upon his departure for Palestine it was stated in the press that he was leaving on a mission of conciliation of the various nationalities in Palestine.
