There are more than 608,000 Jews in Palestine, a government statistical report revealed today. The survey, which shows that the Jews represent less than one-third of Palestine’s population of 1,912,000, was apparently released at this time with a view to influencing the discussion on Palestine at the United Nations. It lists 1,077,000 Moslem Arabs, 145,000 Christians, 68,000 Bedouin Arabs and 15,000 Druzes or Assyrians.
