Yiddish books totalling 2,609,700 were printed during 1933 in Moscow, Charkov, Kieff and Minsk, of which 185,000 were textbooks. Book production was divided into belle lettres, textbooks, popular political literature, Marxist and Leninist literature, technical and cultural literature, children’s literature and miscellaneous.
