The Oze, Society for Preserving the Health of the Jews in Eastern Europe, will not organize a public campaign for funds in this country nor will there be any solicitation of individual contributions, was the resolution adopted at the meeting of the American National Committes of the Oze held at the office of the Dr. Lee K. Frankel. Dr. Milton J. Rosenau, chairman of the Committee, presided.
This decision was reached in view of the planned campaign of the Joint Distribution Committee, in order not to affect that campaign in any way. To meet the immediate needs of the Oze, medical institutions in Eastern Europe and to tide over until the results of the J. D. C. campaign become known the American committee decided to ask the support of established foundations in this country. It will submit to the triennial convention of the Council of Jewish Women a proposal that the Council interest itself in the work of the Oze.
S. Y. Jacobi, member of the Central Committee of the Oze, who recently arrived in the United States, reported on his tour in Poland, Lithuania and Latvia during the summer.
