Ozet to Undertake Jewish Colonization in Siberia; Commission Goes to Bureya

The Ozet, the society for settling Jews on the land, has decided to undertake activities for settling Jews in the region of Bureya, Siberia, in accordance with the proposal of the Comzet, the governmental department for settling Jews on the land.

A despatch from Moscow relates that the Ozet has decided to despatch a special commission to the Bureya region to take the first steps for organizing the operations. The commission, which will soon proceed to Siberia, is composed of Samuel Weizmann, brother of Dr. Chaim Weizmann, Mr. Raschkes, prominent in the Jewish section of the Communist party, and Mr. Robinson. A group of 22 Jewish families in Smolensk has volunteered to go as pioneers to the Bureya region.
