The Palestine lodge of the Independent Order B’nai Brith, a branch of the American Jewish fraternal order, celebrated its fortieth anniversary yesterday.
At the celebration the accomplishments of the lodge were recalled. It was this lodge which established in 1892 the library which later became the National and Hebrew University Library. The lodge also founded the colony Motza, eight kilometers west of Jerusalem. It established the first Hebrew kindergarten in Palestine in 1903.
