The strike of drivers of automobiles and horse-drawn vehicles was called off today following a promise by the municipality to give a definite answer within three days to the protest of the vehicle operators against lowering of the fares.

The strike so inconvenienced the population and tourists in Jrusalem and other cities that the authorities were constrained to announce they would reconsider the demand for a reduction.

Owing to the inadequate railway facilities, much of the traffic between Jerusalem and other parts of Palestine is carried by privately owned vehicles.
