The Palestine Corporation Ltd., a British-Jewish institution devoted to aiding the development of Jewish industry in Palestine through loans, today revealed that it has itself secured a loan of $16,000,000 from friendly British financial circles.

The announcement was made at a meeting of the Economic Board for Palestine at which it was also reported that Russia may offer a wide market for the Palestine citrus industry and thus help to alleviate the crises which occur in the industry periodically.

The meeting, attended by leading Jewish financial figures, including Sir. Robert Waley-Cohen, Anthony de Rothschild and Lord Bearsted, heard several speakers declare that political, rather than economic matters, were dominating the Palestine scene to the detriment of the welfare of the population. Other speakers stressed the country’s “unique attractiveness” for enterprise.
