In reply to Mr. Barnett Janner, the member for White-chapel, who asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies in the House of Commons to-day whether any declarations would be made in respect of the Development Scheme for Palestine before the House rose, and if not whether the Government would be committed to any scheme before the House meets again, Sir Robert Hamilton, the Under-Secretary for the Colonies, said that the answer to the first part of the question is in the negative.

As regards the second part, he continued, as was stated in this House on July 20th., by the late Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, before approval is given for the guarantee of the Loan which would be floated in connection with the Development Scheme, the whole matter would be brought before parliament for consideration.
