A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Palestine Foundation Fund, the Keren Hayesod, the main instrument of the Jewish Agency for raising the Palestine budget, will be held in Berlin in September, according to plans formulated by the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Agency Council at its first session here.
According to the constitution adopted by the Jewish Agency Council, the Board of Directors of the Keren Hayesod in now to be composed of an equal number of Zionists and non-Zionists. Oscar Wasserman of Berlin, who for some time past has been the president of the Keren Hayesod in Germany, was named by the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Agency Council as the representative of the non-Zionists on the Keren Hayesod board. Herr Wasserman was charged with working out new plans and proposals for the organization of the future work of the Keren Hayesod and with naming other non-Zionist members of the Keren Hayesod Board.
The meeting of the Keren Hayesod Board of Directors in Berlin, which will also be attended by its non-Zionist members, will have to formulate a policy for adopting the Keren Hayesod work to the newly created situation.
The Jewish Agency Council at one of its last sessions addressed a solemn appeal to Jewry throughout the world to view financial support to the Keren Hayesod as a sacred and foremost duty. The reconstitution of the Board of Directors of the Keren Hayesod was one of the questions on the agenda of the first meeting of the Administrative Committee under the chairmanship of Felix M. Warburg.
