The Palestine Government today indicated that it may disband the local Jewish councils and municipalities and veto their expenditures, should they decide to make any allocations towards the $400,000 fund which the Jewish National Council of Palestine decided to raise for the purpose of bringing Jews into Palestine by all means regardless of Jewish immigration restrictions.
A letter asking clarification of its resolution setting up the fund, signed by Robert Scott, Acting Chief Secretary of the Palestine Government, was received today by the Jewish National Council, while all Jewish municipalities and local councils were making preparations to hold country-wide public meeting tomorrow to vote on the raising of the fund, as the first act in the policy of non-cooperation with the government.
