A delegation of the Vaad Leumi, the National Council of Palestine Jewry, was received yesterday by Col. George S. Symes, Chief Secretary of the Palestine government. The delegation intervened with the government concerning its demand to introduce changes in the Palestine municipal election ordinance.
Col. Symes stated that all proposals to amend the ordinance were rejected by the government in view of its wish that the municipalities to be elected under the new ordinance meet for the purpose of discussing the budgets for 1927. The only amendment which the government will introduce into the ordinance is that applicants for citizenship will be granted the right to vote, Col. Symes stated.
