The Palestine Government is preparing to amend he land sale ordinance of 1940, which restricts the sale of Arab land to Jews in accordance with the White Paper policy, the Arab newspaper Falestin reports today. It says that the ordinance is being altered “to prevent future transgressions.” It was ensclosed recently that the government was investigating allegedly illegal land purchases by Jews.
A Jewish land broker named Moshe Moualem was murdered yesterday by two unknown assassins at his home in the settlement of Bnei Brak. Moualem was called from the bedroom of his home sometime after midnight by two men who asked to speak to him. then he reached the veranda one of the assassins shot him and the other stabbed him. Police are searching for the murderers.
The Jewish National Fund announced today that sand dunes along the shore between Tel Aviv and Nathanya, which were considered worthless, will be the site of a new city stretching over 5,000 dunams. It will contain industrial and residential sections and a seashore resort. The project is part of the JNF’s $8,000,000 expansion plan for the current Jewish year.
