The Palestine Government had a deficit £1,396,000 for the fiscal year ended March 31, owing to decline in revenue due to the Arab general strike and increased military expenses caused by disturbances.
Revenues were £4,620,000, £1,150,000 less than in the preceding fiscal year, and expenditures were about £6,000,000, an increase of £1,753,000. A surplus of £6,267,000 reported at the beginning of the fiscal year has been reduced to about £4,989,000.
