The High Commissioner for Palestine, General Sir Arthur Wauchope, has presented a cup to be competed for in the Maccabiade Relay Race. British army and police teams will take part in the race, which will be run to-morrow.
The High Commissioner will attend the Maccabiade to-morrow afternoon, for the closing ceremony.
The 500 metres race was won to-day by an Egyptian Arab named Said Muhamed. Two Americans, Feigan and Ginsberg, won the men’s high jump, jumping 1.80 metres and 1.75 metres respectively. Germany beat Palestine at hockey and handball; and England beat Palestine at tennis. Kiss Koff, of the American team, won the ladies’ long high jump, and two Americans, Schneider and Adelman, took first and second place in the "putting the shot" semi-finals.
