The Palestine Supreme Court will hear an appeal tomorrow by Tel Aviv Mayor Israel Rokach to set aside the death sentence imposed on Dov Gruner.
Rokach’s plea, which was filed with the High Court today, asks that Palestine’s military commander and the president of the army court which convicted Gruner show cause why the verdict should not be declared null. In addition, it would prevent the superintendent of the Jerusalem Prison from hanging Gruner. The plea was filed by Rokach in his capacity of president of the Tel Aviv Community Council which voted unanimously to carry it to the Privy Council, if necessary.
