The Palestine government today officially confirmed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency forecast of yesterday on the formation of a commission on the question of introducing an income tax in Palestine. The entire population of the country is strongly opposed to the measure because it is bound to hinder Palestine industry and abolish the attraction of the country to capitalists anxious to come to Palestine or make investments in the country. Coming as it does when industry is of the greatest importance in the upbuilding of the country, an income tax is regarded as superfluous, since the Palestine government still has a surplus of income over expenditure.
