Palestine Jews and the press yesterday mourned the anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities which led to the destruction of Polish Jewry.

Press editorials however urged the Jews not to despair and counselled them patiently to await the defeat of the totalitarian powers and the resurrection of Polish Jewry. The newspapers urged Jews to aid their Polish racial brothers with funds.

The chief rabbis and leaders of the Agudath Israel delivered sermons in synagogues on the war anniversary. Posters calling the Jews to prayer for the Polish Jews appeared on many buildings.

Isaac Gruenbaum and Eliahu Dobkin members of the World Zionist Executive, addressed a special anniversary meeting at the Jewish Agency Hall.
