With all elements of the population except the Arabs participating, Jerusalem today celebrated the eighteenth anniversary of the armistice in the most impressive manner since the occupation. The Arabs boycotted the celebration.

As the newly-arrived British Royal Commission looked on, troops paraded through the Holy City’s streets to the war cemetery on Mt. Scopus.

A corps of Jewish ex-servicemen who fought under the late Lord Allenby in the conquest of the Holy Land marched in the parade. Prayers were said at the graves of fallen Jewish soldiers.

Representatives of the Jewish Agency for Palestine and central Jewish organizations participated in the observances.
