A five-year plan to make the Palestine postal telegraph and telephone service the best in the Near East was announced today by Postmaster General William Hudson.
The announcement states that the government will invest $2,500,000 in the project. Mr. Hudson explains that the increased Jewish immigration into Palestine has necessitated a more efficient service by the post office.
During the month of March alone the Jewish population in Palestine increased by more than 14,000. Five hundred and fifty-eight Jewish families entered during that month as capitalist immigrants, bringing not less than $3,000,000 into the country.
BORDER CHANGE REPORTED
A change in the Palestine-Syrian frontier is announced today in Falastin, an Arab daily, with additional Syrian territory being transferred in Palestine.
The change has been approved by the French authorities in Syria, the paper states, adding that a Syrian official and the chief engineer of the Palestine government today started surveying the territory and selecting a site for a customs house.
