Preparations for the resumption of work at the Palestine Potash Corporation plant which extracts chemicals from the Dead Sea are now being made, it was stated here today by M. Novemeisky, president of the corporation, prior to his leaving for London en route to Israel.

Mr. Novemeisky, who spent several weeks in the United States in consultation with American technical firms and with financial institutions, in connection with the projected resumption of operations, revealed that during the Arab-Israeli War the Arab Legion destroyed most of the Corporation’s property. The damage amounted to many millions of dollars, Mr. Novemeisky said.

Mr. Novemeisky reported that the Jordan Exploration Company, another enterprise which he organized in Palestine with a capital of over $800,000, is making geological surveys on the possibility of discovering oil in the Dead Sea area. Technicians from Texas have been engaged in this work.
