A conference of all rabbis in Palestine will be held here shortly to proclaim a world-wide day of fasting and seven days of mourning for the murdered Jews of Europe, it was announced today by Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog, following a meeting of leading rabbis.
Jewish leaders and rabbis throughout the world will be asked to participate, Rabbi Herzog said. He added that the meeting had also decided to call on rescue organizations in Palestine and abroad to exert all efforts to save the remaining Jews in occupied territory, and also to obtain custody of Jewish children in liberated countries who are still in non-Jewish hideouts.
