Trans-Jordania will, in future, be more closely connected with the government of Mesopotamia than in the past. From now on Sir Percy Cox, British High Commissioner of Mesopotamia will have a supervision of the finances of Trans-Jordania, a report published here today states.
The Trans-Jordanian government is enjoying a subsidy from the British Colonial office, which is being given to Emir Abdullah, ruler of Trans-Jordania for the purpose of maintaining order in the country. Charges of extravagance were recently made against the Emir in the British Parliament. The present vesting of financial supervision of Trans-Jordania in Sir Percy Cox, High Commissioner of Mesopotamia, will bring about a closer co-operation between Trans-Jordania and Mesopotamia, where the two sons of King Hussein, Abdullah and Fisal, rule.
