Palestine’s cooperative associations are described as the “best developed cooperative movement in the British dependencies” in a report on the development of the cooperative movement in British colonies and dependencies issued by the colonial bureau of the Fabian Society.
In a special chapter devoted to Palestine, the report describes in detail the development of agricultural, producers, marketing, wholesale, consumer, industrial and housing cooperatives. The report recommends governmental and international assistance for the colonial cooperative movement.
