Palestine’s Highest Officials Leave for Amman

Sir Herbert Samuel, High Commissioner for Palestine, has left for Amman today in order to confer there with King Hussein. He is accompanied by Civil Secretary Gilbert Clayton and Ronald Storrs, Governor of Jerusalem.

Eight French officers are proceeding from Syria to Amman where the Arab Conference is taking place, to represent Syrian interests.

According to one version Sir Herbert Samuel is going to Amman in connection with the Treaty the British Government intends to conclude with the King of Hedjas.

According to another, Sir Herbert Samuel will participate in the discussion of the future relations of Palestine with the Arab Federation which would include Hejjas, Mesopotamia and Transjordania.
