The Times said in an editorial today that Jewish evidence before the Royal Commission in Jerusalem had revealed the existence of a “surprisingly stable” economic structure in the Holy Land.
Summarizing the commission’s work, the Times declared:
“The general impression given by Jewish evidence is that efforts to build the Jewish national home have progressed by leaps and bounds and that the structure erected is surprisingly stable. The picture emerged of a new nation complete with language, cultural system, economic life which is becoming more and more racially cohesive and homogeneous and is spreading out farther across the country.”
