The situation facing Palestine in the immediate future in connection with the war activities in the Middle East as well as the political developments in the countries bordering Palestine were outlined here last night in a four-hour report delivered at a closed session of the Small Zionist Actions Committee by Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency.

This is the longest report ever delivered by Shertok since he assumed office as a member of the Executive of the Jewish Agency to which he was elected eight years ago. Shertok has recently spent much time in Cairo where the British military headquarters for the entire Near East are located.

In the course of his address Shertok touched upon his recent meeting with William C. Bullitt as well as on the problem of a Jewish Army. He outlined the contributions which the Yishuv has made to the British war effort in men and material and reported on the further steps which the executive of the Jewish Agency intends to take in connection with the demand that Palestine be proclaimed a Jewish State.
