Palestinian Authority finance minister Salam Fayyad, an internationally respected reformer, quit. Fayyad, who resigned Saturday, said he wanted to run in Palestinian legislative elections, scheduled for January. Fayyad also reportedly was frustrated with the Palestinian Authority’s inability to face its financial issues.
