Palestinian terrorists were caught on camera using a Gaza Strip school for cover while they fired mortar bombs at Israel.
The Israeli army this week released video footage, shot by an air force surveillance drone, of a Palestinian mortar crew operating from the courtyard of an elementary school for boys in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun.
The terrorists can be seen loading priming a mortar and then running into the school every time it fires. The shelling, which took place Monday, caused damage to a kibbutz just across the Gaza-Israel border.
“The terrorist organizations, headed and controlled by Hamas, constantly and cynically use the uninvolved Palestinian civilians and children as human shields,” the army said in a statement. “This puts uninvolved Palestinians in danger. The responsibility lies with the terrorist organizations alone.”
Israeli forces attacked the mortar crew after they left the school premises. It was not immediately clear how many of the terrorists were hit, but Monday saw intense Beit Hanoun clashes in which an Israeli soldier and two Palestinians died.
