Paper Lauds Defense Work of German Jewry

Commenting on the interview of the Berlin correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency with Justization Dr Julius Brodnitz, president of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, on the work of that organization, the “Jewish Tribune” says editorially: “The Jews of Germany have been spared the works forms of Jew-baiting due largely to the vigilance of the Central Union which boasts of the phenomenal membership of 70,000.

“In our country,” the paper continues “the need for defense against attack i not as great as it is in Germany, but there is room for affirmative propaganda such as the Centeral Verein engages in for the purposes of enlightening both Jewry and Christians on those poin’s of mutual interest, of which a clear knowledge is a prerequisite for a good understanding.”

A new Section of the National Council of Jewish Women, to be known as the North Shore Section, was formed at Bayside, Long Island, following an address by Mrs. Estelle ## Sternbergen Executive Secretary of the National Council of Jewish Women. Mrs. Max Schwartz of Bayside was elected the first president of the North Shore Section which will include Bayside, Flushing, Whitestone. Great Neck and adjacent communities.
