Fostering of religious and racial tolerance in American homes and schools was recommended last night by the National Congress of Parents and Teachers in a nine-point program adopted as the major objective of the activities of the organization for the coming year. More than 28,000 Parent-Teacher Associations with a membership of 2,500,000 were represented at the Congress.
“We recommend,” says the resolution, “that tolerance be fostered in home and school by a conscious effort to appreciate the background and contributions of other social and racial groups.”
