Palats Cahillot, the newest and finest public hall in Paris, was assigned today to the U.S. armed forces to serve as a synagogue for Jewish soldiers during the Jewish High Holidays which start Friday evening. German war prisoners have been put to work to prepare the hall for the Rosh Hashomah services.
Large consignments of religious requirements for Jewish centers in Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt-au-Main, Munich and other cities in Germany were dispatched today from London by the Chief Rabbi’s Emergency Council in connection with the High Holidays.
