POLAND, THE GAZETA EXPLAINED, IS “VITALLY INTERESTED IN LARGE-SCALE JEWISH EMIGRATION,” AND PARTITIONING WOULD REDUCE THE CAPACITY OF PALESTINE TO ABSORB JEWISH IMMIGRANTS.
“IF REPORTS IN THE BRITISH PRESS REGARDING PARTITION OF PALESTINE ARE CORRECT THEN POLAND MUST ADOPT A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TOWARD THE ROYAL COMMISSION’S REPORT,” THE EDITORIAL SAID.
IF THE FUTURE JEWISH STATE IN PALESTINE SHOULD BE AS SMALL AS THE ENGLISH PRESS DECLARES, THE GAZETA HOLDS IN WOULD NOT ABSORB MORE THAN 350,000 JEWS.
“PALESTINE WOULD THUS LOSE ITS IMPORTANCE TO POLAND AS A MEANS OF SOLUTION OF THE JEWISH PROBLEM,” THE PAPER STATES. “POLAND CONSIDERS VLADIMIR JABOTINSKY’S PLAN FOR EVACUATING 75,000 JEWS ANNUALLY TO BE OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE AND IS THEREFORE STRONGLY SUPPORTING IT.”
