Anti-Jewish attacks in several townships in Lithuania were reported here today as a result of anti-Jewish propaganda spreading the legend that Jews use blood for ritual purposes on Passover.

Jews in the outlying sections throughout the country appealed today to the government here for protection. In their appeals the Jews from the provinces state that agitators are now traveling through the villages and inciting the non-Jewish population against the Jews, chiefly by repeating the blood ritual allegation.

Jewish leaders here asked the government today to take measures against the propagandists. It is believed that the agitation is being conducted by Nazi agents. Steps will be taken by the government to prevent their activities, the Jewish leaders were assured.
