Peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority will be impossible if Palestinian refugees are not allowed to return to homes they abandoned during Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, speakers said at a demonstration attended by hundreds Saturday outside the White House. That same day, some 100 Palestinian youths hurled stones at Israeli soldiers during similar demonstrations in the West Bank town of Bethlehem.
