People are turning in increasing numbers to religion in the face of prevailing anxieties and tensions due to the world crisis, Dr. Samuel S. Hollander, general chairman of the combined campaign of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, reported here at a meeting of national campaign leaders.
He said organization of nearly 100 new congregations in the last five years and increase in the support given Reform religious institutions evidenced this religious resurgence. Isadore Coons, executive vice-chairman, reported that $921,000 had been raised in the campaign to date.
