Representing 13 cities and 20 Jewish labor organizations 138 delegates began the annual convention of the People’s Relief Committee here Sunday.
The attacks on the organization made by a New York Jewish daily charging that the Committee has not raised as much money as its report snows, the bulk of the money recorded having come to the Committee in the form of “credits” for participation in American Jewish Relief Administration drives, is being warmly discussed.
Alexander Kohn, of New York, president of the organization, declared that the attacks were realy directed at the Jewish labor movement than at the organization itself.
The chief topic before the convention is the proposal to amalgamate on reconstructive work in Europe with the “Ort”.
