Yaacov Tsur, Israeli Minister to Argentina, today told a press conference that President Peron expressed deep sympathy for Israel and lauded the Argentine Jews in a conversation with him.

The Israeli diplomat said that separate fund-raising campaigns by Jewish groups in Argentina do not help the cause of Israel. He appealed to the Jews of Argentina to send chalutzim to the Jewish state.

Jewish groups in Argentina today began the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Max Nordau, which falls on August 5. Several public meetings have already taken place in Buenos Aires. The entire Jewish press dedicates special articles to the memory of Dr. Nordau and emphasizes not only his contribution to modern Zionism, but also to world literature.
