Philadelphia Einstein Medical Center Gets $1,000,000 Jewish Gift

A $1,000,000 gift has been made to Philadelphia’s Albert Einstein Medical Center by Dr. and Mrs. Leon Levy, it was announced today. A 459 bed hospital building at the Medical Center’s Northern Division will be named “The Leon Levy Medical-Surgical Building” in recognition of the gift.

Paul J. Johnson, chairman of Einstein’s Board of Trustees, said the donation was made in memory of Dr. Levy’s late mother, Mrs. Fannie Levy, of Phila. Dr. Levy is a member of the board of directors of Columbia Broadcasting System. He also is a member of Einstein’s Board of Trustees. Mrs. Levy is the former Blanche Paley, daughter of Mrs. Samuel Paley, of Phila., and the late Mr. Paley.
