A group of prominent Jewish leaders took up the pledge of the late Jules E. Mastbaum, and proferred their cooperation to the effort of Temple University to raise a $5,000,000 Fund for expansion purposes.
A large proportion of the student body at Temple University are Jews.
The pledge of cooperation was given yesterday at a luncheon conference held at the Locust Club. The invitations to the luncheon had been prepared by Mr. Mastbaum. The work was taken up by Albert M. Greenfield who presided at the luncheon.
The $5,000,000 sum is part of a $20,000,000 endowment fund to be raised nationally.
Associated with Mr. Greenfield in arranging the luncheon conference were Dr. Cyrus Adler, President of Dropsie College and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Judge Horace Stern, President of the Federation of Jewish Charities, Samuel S. Fels and Jacob D. Lit.
