A $1,000,000 gift by Albert M. Greenfield, a prominent Philadelphia philanthropist, to provide a permanent endowment for the Albert M. Greenfield Center for Human Relations at the University of Pennsylvania, was announced here today by Dr. Gaylord P. Harnwell, president of the University.
The gift was made through the Albert M. Greenfield Foundation which was established by Mr. Greenfield some years ago to aid educational, cultural and charitable programs. The Center was founded in 1951 to provide education and training, research and community service in intergroup relations. Mr. Greenfield is a member of the board of governors of the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He has served as a director of the Philadelphia Federation of Jewish Charities and of the Albert Einstein Medical Center.
