Pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim said he is outraged by attempts to prevent him from staging an opera by the anti-Semitic composer Richard Wagner at a festival in Jerusalem. “I can identify completely with the people who don’t want to listen to it,” he told Israel Radio. “But I can’t identify with the fact that they are trying to stop other people from hearing it.”
